Tunggu-Tunggu… from Sorong to Jakarta

Tuesday 25th November, in transit at Jakarta’s airport.

The day will be spent just going back to Jakarta. We are split into two different flights leaving at 2pm and 4pm. Everyone leaves the ASPOR at around 11am. While the first group is taking off, the others wait for their flight in front of the airport, where it is cooler than inside.

NB : in Indonesian, “waiting” is said “Tunggu”

Our Indonesian colleagues have now arrived at destination. The European members of the expedition spend the night in Jakarta before going home or directly leave for France. For those leaving for France, it is only the beginning of a long journey. The flight will take 38 hours and includes 5 stopovers. The management team is staying for a few extra days in Jakarta.
